Round 3 Wrap from the President

Another round of matches has come and gone, with mixed results 2 wins and 2 losses. The A’s went down to Coromandel Ramblers, with Shaun Krutli making another ton 111 and Darren “Barney” Williams another 5 wicket haul, second in two games. The B grade had their first win of the season defeating Sheidow Park 2, Riley Hains 33 and Jim Colley 27 best with the bat, Madhur Kaushal 4/10 and Prabath Perera 4/16 best bowling, congratulations to Jason and the 2nds on their first win. The thirds continued on their merry way with their third win defeating Shiedow Park 3, Luke Slattery 103, Graham Hartlett 43, Dawood Choudhry 3/20, Roger Ross 3/40. The D grade went down to Warradale, their report will come from “Warnie” to be posted later in the week.

This round saw some amazing individual efforts, lets start with my mate Darren “Barney” Wlliams the guy who has retired more times from the A grade than I have wickets for the club. In the last two game playing in the A’s he has taken 5 wickets even more remarkable he has now captured 500 wickets for South Road, a great achievement. I recently spoke with club legend Brian Maetze and he would love you to break his record and he asked me to let you know he played until he was 61 so do you have a few more overs left? Will Barn go on to be greatest wicket taker ever at SRCC?

Shaun Krutli scored another ton for the club, 111 to be exact, I stand to be corrected on this but I think this may be Shaun’s eighth ton for the club all this in just under 100 games for the club. Shaun I would love to see you make many more for the club.
Luke Slattery our illustrious thirds captain made his maiden ton for the club 103, congratulations Luke great work leading from the front opening the batting hope you get many more.

Unfortunately the comedy night was not, the only joke was the way I cooked the steaks, could have done with Jim Colleys help who I can vouch for is a great chef and cooks a great steak. However I managed to cremate most of the steaks which I apologise for did not realise it was so hard to cook steaks on the hot plate in the Footy Club kitchen. Deano that was the biggest T bone I have ever seen great work to eat all of it pity I could not cook it better. Thanks to Peter Dabinett from the footy club for opening up for us. To all the members who attended the chips were the hilight of the night. Special thanks to my wife Vicki and Masey for their help with the kitchen duties and lucky squares.

The clubs new clothing has arrived like to say how good it looks, to all members if you have some of the new gear wear it and show your pride in being part of of our great club. A big thank you to Luke Woolman for arranging the clothing well down mate and I think you may get orders for more.

Remember to get you subs money each game into your Captain or a one off payment to Barney I will keep on about this until seasons end as it is important for the club to be in the black!

Funny things this round my bad cooking, the anonymous captain now doing his beach recovery sessions at Maslin’s. The finisher/closer not required a good thing I think. We have a new blogger to give everyone a run down of the action in the fourths. Best sledge this round from a captain to his number one bowler about his 27 overs for no wickets.
