President’s Letter: State of Play and Pre-Season Training 2019

Hello Roadies,

I hope you are all doing well and have been safe and sound over this winter break. Today I am writing to you all to discuss the current state of the club and inform you of the hard work your elected Committee has been putting in.

Committee Efforts

The Committee has created a vision to work towards with our time at the helm of SRCC. We are using the following statements to guide our actions:

  • On and off the field, we strive to improve.
  • No matter the odds, we fight for our best.
  • Irrespective of grade, we maintain our inclusive, diverse family.
  • Being proud of our history, we are driven to create our own.

I feel these statements explain our club well. To achieve this vision, I need help from you all. To cultivate the brotherhood and family that we need to succeed on and off the field we need to work together. We are all team mates – A grade to D grade – it’s one shirt we wear, let’s be proud to be Roadies!

The Committee is working hard to prepare for Season 2019-20. A major priority we have currently is sponsorship. If you work at a business able to contribute or have any ideas in this area can you please contact the Committee. On the fundraising front, we are looking into running Bunnings BBQs in the near future. We have made contact and are waiting to hear back about availability. I will contact everyone with more details as they arise, and I hope you can find a couple of hours to volunteer for this club we love.

Preseason Start

This year we are commencing Preseason on Sunday August 25th, with more details to follow. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

We would like to return to 4 teams this season. The best way to grow this club is to bring your mates, all are welcome. The Committee is taking all necessary steps to recruit this off season but there is no better method than all of you roadies spreading the message about our great club.

Call for Captains

This letter is also a call to all club members as Captain positions for each grade have been declared vacant. All nominations are welcome. There will be plenty of support behind you and plenty of experienced heads to help you through the year. Please call (0430 021 525), text, or email me with expressions of interest.

Update Your Details

As the final part of this message, I am asking for you all to update your current contact information. We have put together a form you can fill out here. As a club, we need these details to keep you all informed of SRCC news, schedules, and social events. Also, in order to receive your Edwardstown Club Members Cards for discounted food and beverages, we need your current info and consent to send it on. Please fill the form out, even if you think we already have your details.

Regards,

Aaron Schmidt
