Match Presentations this Saturday (27th Feb)

After match drinks and presentations to be held at Edwardstown Football Club lounge Saturday 27th February from 6.30pm.

Lets get back to the Club and hopefully celebrate;

1) A’s chasing down 250+
2) B’s winning outright after being dismissed for 31 in the first innings
3) C’s winning and stitching up a finals position
4) D’s – Roger Nunn’s After Match Speech
5) Percy’s 250th game.

Darren ‘Percy’ Percival

This Saturday Darren ‘Percy’ Percival steps out for his 250th game for the Mighty Roadies. Percy becomes only the 8th SRCC player to achieve this feat.

Percy played his first game for SRCC back in the Season of 1984/85. He played 2 games in the thirds and has played in every grade for the club over the past 22 Seasons.

He has been a loyal club man for 22 seasons, his service to our club has not only been as a player. He has also has served on the committee of management since 1994/95 for one season and then again from season 1998/99 until 2003/2004, he held the role of vice president for two seasons (2001/2002 and 2002/2003). He has been awarded the Des Partington Best Team Man Award on 4 occasions and in season 2001-02 he was awarded the Presidents Trophy. Percy was awarded Life Membership of the Club in 2006.

Warney’s Round 9 ‘D’ Grade Report

Nunny sits at the footy while Dave Ewers saves the day with brilliant ton. Also, Nunny again to High Court over Umpiring Dispute

South Road IV Captain was to be seen the night before the game against Morphy Park, at Richmond Oval watching the warm up match between West Adelaide and Norwood. He was discussing tactics with his star spinner, Warney. One tactic was for the spinner to toss the coin. That, he did. He won that toss and had no hesitation in choosing to bat first. It was a hot day and Warney wasn’t going to allow his team to burn their necks fielding. (more…)

Player Subs

As we all know the South Road Cricket Club cannot survive without it’s Members paying their Match Fees.

Currently we have over $3,000 in outstanding Subs across all grades. To enable the Club to finish the season off strongly we need everyone to be paid up asap. Please bring some cash this Saturday and your Captain will gratefully accept it or alternatively make payment via Bank Transfer to the below Account Number.

As of the next round (Round 10) any player with $50 or more outstanding will not be available for selection. (more…)
